Mary Richards, KSL Newsradio There's a new law on the books in Springville to keep booze away from kids. Any alcohol now needs to be at least 15 feet from store entrances in the city.
City Councilman Ben Jolley says children have had to walk past mountains of beer to buy a candy bar. "So my hope is, is that the stores will be a little bit more careful in placing them so that it doesn't make it look like, you know, alcohol is for everybody, for kids," he explained.
But others say some convenience stores aren't even big enough to store alcoholic drinks that far in the back.
