SALT LAKE CITY — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will visit six cities in America's heartland next summer — their first visit to the upper Midwest since 2009.

The tour will include stops in Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison and Minneapolis from June 12 through June 20, 2013. It will feature the full 360-voice choir and 65 members of the Orchestra at Temple Square.

"The Choir performs before a live audience every week for its Music and the Spoken Word broadcast," said Ron Jarrett, president of the Choir. "But there is nothing quite like hearing the Choir live in concert. We love going on the road to connect with our audiences in the Midwest, who will experience the pure joy music can bring to the hearts and minds of its listeners."

The Choir's repertoire will cover everything from Bach and Broadway to American folk hymns and spirituals. Tickets for the concerts are now available, with the exception of the concert at the Ravinia Festival, where lawn tickets go on sale (via Internet only) on November 12, 2012. More specific information on dates, venues and tickets is available on the Choir's [website](< mormontabernaclechoir.org>) and on its Facebook page.

The 2013 Midwest tour will begin on Wednesday, June 12, with a concert in Columbus, Ohio, at the Nationwide Arena. The Choir made a previous visit to Columbus during its 1992 tour. But it will be the first time the Choir will visit Indianapolis, Indiana, which will be the next stop on the tour, on Friday, June 14, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Choir and Orchestra will then head to a performance at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, June 15. The Ravinia Festival warmly welcomed the choir during its 2007 tour. Then it's on to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a performance on Monday, June 17, at the Milwaukee Theater, which last hosted the Choir in 1992. The Midwest tour continues in Madison on June 18 with a concert at the Overture Center for the Arts.

The final stop on the tour will be Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the Choir will perform in the Target Center, a city which was also a 1992 tour destination.

Since its first tour outside of Utah in 1893, the Choir has toured extensively across the United States and abroad. It has performed throughout Europe and in music capitals from Israel and Russia to Japan and Australia. Its travels have also included performances at the inaugurations of six U.S. presidents. The all-volunteer Choir and Orchestra usually tour every other year since all of the performers must take vacation time from their jobs and leave their families to undertake the travel.

The 360-voice choir, accompanied frequently by the 110-member orchestra, can also be heard weekly as part of the Music and the Spoken Word broadcast. This 30-minute program is the world's longest continuing network broadcast and currently airs on over 2,000 radio, TV, cable and satellite stations worldwide. The Choir and Orchestra are active recording artists with their own recording label, Mormon Tabernacle Choir®.
