SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Road work on Interstate 80 this weekend may cause some traffic troubles.

A section of I-80 near 1700 West will close tonight so crews can demolish a Redwood Road bridge deck over the interstate.

The section will be shut down from nine o'clock tonight until Monday at five a-m.

The Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers to take an alternative route or avoid the area this weekend.

- Westbound I-80 traffic will be diverted to I-15

- Eastbound I-80 traffic will be diverted to I-215

- Onramps from Redwood Road to I-80 will remain open
