(KSL News) Some high school students from American Fork had a very special Thanksgiving Day.
They marched in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The American Fork marching band has been rehearsing six to eight hours a week for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
This was the first trip to New York for most of the 251 band members.
Besides all the families who had personal connections to the band, one family from American Fork family watched with keen interest.
The Landeen family here was glued to the television. Their son Travis was a gifted musician and former student body president at American Fork.
He was killed in a tragic car crash earlier this year. They say he would have been proud of this accomplishment for the school.
