(KSL News) Three Utah hospitals were honored this morning for saving lives through organ donation.
LDS Hospital, the University of Utah Medical Center and Primary Children's Medical Center all were recognized in October at a National Conference. Now, officials from Intermountain Donor Services wanted to recognize them at home.
They say all three hospitals have improved their donation programs in several key areas. "Better communication, very purposeful ways of working with families who are facing the end of life of a loved one, very compassionate and sensitive ways of working with the families so that they're more likely to say yes to organ donation," explained Liz Roach, of Intermountain Donor Services.
All three hospitals have received the award every year for the last three years.
