The highly anticipated trailer has been released and it's pretty much exactly what we thought it would be.
Luhrmann is known for his bright scenery and eye popping visuals from films like "Romeo + Juliet" and "Moulin Rouge!" It appears that we can expect the same breath-taking landscapes in Gatsby.
Leonardo DiCaprio plays the title character and is surrounded with other notable actors, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton to name a few. According to the trailer it appears the film will take a bit of a different approach than F. Scott Fitzgerald's celebrated novel.
The narration by Maguire is text straight from the book, but the feel isn't the classic 20's we know. It's more contemporary and flashy, which has Luhrmann written all over it. Luhrmann also tried to give the film a more modern vibe by including tracks from Jay-Z and U2 cover by Jack White in the trailer.
Gatsby Is getting a lot of buzz, but it's still a mystery as to how well the film will perform when it's released this Christmas. It's likely the film will be either a massive success or a major disappointment.
