(KSL News) A man riding in a car that slammed into a power pole during a police chase in Ogden has died.
Officials at McKay-Dee Hospital say 23-year-old Nathan Voorhees passed away less than 24 hours after the accident at 7th Street and Adams Ave.
He was the passenger in a car driven by one of Northern Utah's most wanted criminals, Timothy Chevalier.
Police were staking out a house and saw Chevalier and Voorhees get into a car around 2:45 a.m. Friday. An officer tried to pull the car over, but Chevalier took off, and police followed.
Shortly thereafter, the duo's car slammed into a power pole at about 90 miles per hour, ejecting them.
Chevalier died at the scene.
