PROVO — A man accused of selling the heroin that would lead to the fatal overdose of Utah Eagle Forum President Gayle Ruzicka's son in March 2007 has pleaded guilty to a felony.
Gareth Bozung, 31, pleaded guilty before 4th District Judge Claudia Laycock Wednesday to distribution, offering or arranging to distribute a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
Sentencing was set in the matter for Feb. 15.
In May 2007, Lehi police arrested Bozung on unrelated drug charges. At that time, officers questioned him about Joshua Ruzicka's death, according to court documents. Police say they advised Bozung of his Miranda rights. He then told them that he sold the 27-year-old man a bag of heroin for $5 the night of the overdose, court documents state.
