UTAH COUNTY -- Get ready for hectic holiday travel if you plan to drive through Utah County.
Traffic often backs up in the I-15 CORE construction zone during rush hour. Wednesday afternoon UDOT expects many more cars to be on the road as people take off for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Mindy Nelson with UDOT's Region 3 says just be prepared for it as you plan your travel.
Most lanes and exits are open in the construction zone but the lanes are narrow. The posted speed limits are slower than normal freeway speeds.
The lane splits through Orem remain in place, which is often a congestion point as drivers decide which lanes to take. If you want to use any of the Orem exits, stay in the two right lanes.
Traffic is expected to be the heaviest of the Thanksgiving holiday Wednesday afternoon. Then the busiest return time is Sunday evening. Get traffic updates this afternoon on KSL Newsradio 102.7FM/1160AM.
