LOGAN -- Parts of the Logan River Golf Course are under water in what the Herald Journal reports is the facility's worst flooding in its 17 years of business.

The golf course and walking trail originally closed last month due to a breach in the river bank that flooded the course.

In some places the water is waist-deep. Holes 1 and 9 are believed to be damaged. Jeff John, head golf professional at the course, told the Herald the ninth tee and basically all of the No. 1 fairway are compromised.

Golfers can only access about half of the course. It may be mid-July before more holes reopen but course managers remain optimistic.

Revenue fell off sharply at the course in June due to wet weather and flooding.

A flood warning is in effect for the Logan River until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
