Spring 2011 Online Flower Festival
There are a lot of things that come to mind when one thinks about Utah, however, our weather probably wouldn\'t make anyone\'s top ten list unless you are Kevin Eubank. Last Saturday I woke up to snow, drove my son to his soccer game in the rain and by 3 o\'clock in the afternoon was mowing the lawn in 60 degree weather. Just five months ago we heard rumors of a drought year and now in April some families are already battling floods while others are preparing sandbags. I have lived in a quite a few states, but never have I experience weather like I have in the State of Utah.
It is now the middle of April and there are days of waking up to light snow on the ground. I don\'t even remember spring last year, it seems like we went straight from winter to summer. Therefore, we should unite together to persuade Old Man Winter to move along.
As a way to celebrate spring and to commemorate the beauty that is beginning to bloom all around Utah, ksl.com is announcing their inaugural Online Spring Flower Festival. We are asking people to capture flowers in bloom around them and then to submit those photos to ksl.com for all to see.
Click here to submit your photos or to view the Online Spring Flower Festival photo gallery.
Even if this online photo gallery cannot change the forces of nature, it will at least provide us with something of the outside world to enjoy while waiting for Old Man Winter to move-on.
