(KSL News) -- The last day of school before the holiday break ended with a stabbing today in West Valley.

Police say two 16-year old students were walking home from Granger High School when they began fighting. The fight escalated and one of the boys stabbed the other.

Witnesses saw the stabbing, followed the suspect, and forced him to return to the scene.

The victim was stabbed three times but is said to be in fair condition at the hospital. The suspect was arrested.
