(KSL News) South Salt Lake Police are asking for help in a hit-and-run investigation.

On Saturday, 32-year-old Thomas Michael Doxey was hit and killed. The accident happened between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m.

He was struck as he sat in the middle of the southbound lanes of 900 West at 3110 South. Doxey was dressed entirely in black.

It's possible the hit-and-run driver may have thought he or she hit a box or some other object and did not realize he or she actually hit a person.

Detectives are also hoping for more information on where Doxey lived and worked.
