SALT LAKE CITY -- Police arrested an extremely drunk driver in Salt Lake City Wednesday night.
Officers with the Joint Criminal Apprehension Team were near Liberty Park looking for another person when they saw this man get into his car. He was very clearly drunk, so they tried to stop him.
The man fled and officers followed him until he stopped near 800 South and Main Street. There was an open bottle of alcohol in his car.
"He's incredibly intoxicated, so luckily we were able to get him stopped before he killed anyone," said Lt. Melody Gray with the Salt Lake City Police Department.
The suspect was given a breathalyzer test, which showed him to be at least three times over the legal limit.
