WEST VALLEY CITY -- Police in West Valley have arrested two individuals they believe are responsible for robbing several Subway restaurants earlier this month.
Over the weekend, police arrested 21-year-old James McGarry and 19-year-old Michelle Gonzales on eight counts of second-degree felony robbery.
Police say in at least two of the restaurant robberies, McGarry went in and asked to buy a cookie. When the clerk opened the register, McGarry reached over and took the money.
Police did not say how Gonzales was involved in the robberies.
Investigators credit help from the media, public and other law enforcement agencies for tracking down the suspects.
