SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police say a 45-year-old Salt Lake City man is accused of trying to set his wife on fire during a domestic attack at home.
Christian Allen was charged Monday with felony attempted aggravated murder, arson and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child in the July 3 incident at a home near 100 East and Hampton Avenue.
Allen is accused of attacking his wife, pouring gasoline on her and setting the family home ablaze.
The woman escaped to a neighbor's home before the fire. Firefighters contained flames to one room of the house. They estimate damage at about $40,000.
