WEST VALLEY CITY -- A woman fell from the roof of her home and died Friday morning.

Police and fire crews arrived at the home near 3800 South and 4200 West just after 1:00 to find the 20-year-old victim lying on the ground, dead.

A witness told police the woman had fallen approximately 17 feet onto the cement driveway.

"She probably did go up on the roof voluntarily, for what reason we don't know," said Lt. Michael Coleman with the West Valley City Police Department.

Police say the woman had been drinking before she fell.
