(KSL News) -- Low income families in Provo will be getting some help with housing.

Today Congressman Chris Cannon announced the city will be getting more than two and a half million dollars in housing subsidies from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The money will not only help families get into homes, but also help city and state officials with revitalizing and stabilizing troubled communities.

West Valley City is also receiving similar funding.
