The post is intact, but the top half of the sign broke off in the 60-70 mph winds and damage three vehicles.

Russ Horton of the Richfield police said a 14-year-old boy was injured when the sign crashed down on the car he was in around 12:30 p.m.

The boy hurt his head and had some other scrapes, but was otherwise okay.

The car he was in was totaled; the other two cars had minor damage.

The wind also ripped off the awning of a greenhouse at a nearby KMart.
