HERRIMAN -- A man whose pickup truck went off the road in Herriman's Rose Canyon is in police custody.
Unified police say the man's truck ended up in the creek about a mile up from the mouth of the canyon around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Several people saw the driver climb out of the small ravine. They tried to persuade him to stay, but police say he fled. About two hours later, officers spotted him on the road trying to flag down a car.
After a small scuffle with an officer, the man was arrested and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say he could face serious charges, including leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and possibly DUI.
