LAYTON -- Television and video games often get the blame for why kids don't exercise.

But one Layton P.E. teacher has found a way that television can get her kids moving.
Coach Rochelle Jeske, known as Coach Roch to students, teaches gym at Mountain View Elementary. Her curriculum comes from, of all things, a TV show -- NBC's "Minute to Win It."
The game show gives contestants one minute to finish a game and win a million dollars. Here, students have the same minute and the same games, but their reward is a good workout.
"The kids really are leaving dripping sweat or tired, so it's been a great exercise for them," Jeske says.
P.E. classes often fall victim to budget cuts, especially in tough economic times. Coach Roch says limited programs aren't enough to keep kids healthy. She says kids are inspired by something fun that makes them want to stay active."I have a lot of the kids that come up and say āCoach, I just watched the TV show. I can do that. I just did that in P.E.," Jeske says.
Coach Roch encourages parents and teachers to try their own "Minute to Win It" games.
If you need inspiration at home, "Minute to Win It" airs Wednesday nights here on KSL 5.
