SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The chairman of the Utah Republican Party says he will step down in June and not seek a second term guiding the GOP in the state.
Micron lobbyist Stan Lockhart has served as chairman since 2006. Lockhart, who lives in Utah County, says he's stepping down because he needs to tend to other responsibilities, including his job, volunteering and his family.
The state party's vice chairman, Todd Weiler, says he plans to run for Lockhart's job.
