MURRAY -- No one was injured in the latest drive-by BB gun shooting in the Salt Lake Valley, but the victim fired back with an apple.
A man told police he was driving along 1700 East at 6233 South in Murray eating an apple when a car full of teens pulled up around 11 p.m. Saturday. He said one of them shot a BB gun at him.
The shots grazed his car, so he threw his apple, which hit the teens' car and splattered on it.
The man later told police he played baseball in high school and has a pretty good arm. He also got a partial license plate number of the suspects' car.
Police in West Valley, South Salt Lake and Salt Lake County are investigating a rash of BB gun shootings in recent weeks. Police say 21 people have been hit.
Investigators say there have been different descriptions of suspects and vehicles, so it's still unknown if all the shootings are connected. [CLICK HERE to see a plot map of the previous attacks]
The victims range from 13 years old to 53 years old.
