(KSL News) -- A US marine sergeant received an honor today during a ceremony with Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr.
Sergeant Major Jayme F. Winders was pinned with a bronze star for his acts of bravery and leadership during Operations Iraqi Freedom. Winders was part of Battalion Landing Team 1/4 during combat and operations in Iraq.
During his service he displayed great bravery and courage. He bolstered the unit morale and Marines' fighting spirit as he showed courage and devotion.
Fellow marines say Winders upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
