Justus Annunen made 31 saves a night after Juuse Saros stopped 27 shots in a 3-0 victory iin Vancouver. Rookie center Fedor Svechkov also scored and had an assist for his first career multi-point game. Filip Forsberg had two assists. Mikael Backlund scored for Calgary, and Dustin Wolf made 24 saves. The Flames have lost consecutive games for the first time since November.

The Steelers finished the regular season on a four-game losing streak after a fourth-quarter rally fell short, as Cincinnati kept its playoff hopes alive with a 19-17 victory Saturday night. Said Wilson: "I think the best thing we can do is get ready for the playoffs. It's a new season. That's the only thing that really matters anymore at this point." Daquan Davis scored 18 points, Jamir Watkins added 16 and Florida State rolled past Syracuse in the second half, defeating the Orange 90-74. Florida State scored 54 points in the second half, shooting 57% and making 18 free throws. Florida State scored 12 points in the first 3 minutes of the second half to build a 48-39 lead. Five players scored for the Seminoles in an 11-2 run that pushed their lead to 68-55 with 8 1/2 minutes to go. Chris Bell, Lucas Taylor and Donnie Freeman hit 3-pointers to get Syracuse within 73-66 near the 5-minute mark but Florida State began to cash in at the free-throw line. Watkins made 5 of 8 from the line down the stretch and Davis made 6 of 6.

Barnes defeated stablemate Romanesque by 5 1/2 lengths to win the $200,000 San Vicente Stakes for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert in a field of Kentucky Derby hopefuls at Santa Anita. Ridden by Juan Hernandez, Barnes ran seven furlongs in 1:22.15. He paid $4, $2.80 and $2.10 as the slight even-money favorite. Barnes improved to 2-0. He was purchased for $3.2 million as a 2-year-old by owner Amr Zedan. Romanesque, also trained by Baffert, returned $5.20 and $2.40. Bullard was another half-length back in third and paid $2.10 to show.

Alston Mason's 3-pointer just under two minutes in put Arizona State ahead 8-6 and the basket ignited a 14-2 Sun Devils run over the next six minutes for a 19-8 lead. Colorado's Harrison Carrington stopped the hemorrhaging briefly with a 3 with 10:43 left before halftime, but a 13-0 ASU outburst in a little more than two minutes made it 32-11 with 7:52 before intermission.

Hideki Matsuyama and Collin Morikawa put on quite the show at Kapalua. Matsuyama set a personal best with 11 birdies for his round of 62. He still only leads by one shot because Morikawa also shot a 62. They were neck-and-neck all afternoon in calm conditions at The Sentry. Matsuyama set a 54-hole scoring record at 27-under 192. The Plantation course at Kapalua was built with the wind in mind. There was barely a breeze on the mountainous course overlooking the Pacific. Thomas Detry shot 65 and says it felt like a steady round. He was five shots behind.

Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes, and the Baltimore Ravens won the AFC North for the second straight season, clinching the division with a 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Ravens will open the playoffs at home against either the Los Angeles Chargers or Pittsburgh Steelers. Baltimore was two games behind the Steelers in the division before winning its final four to finish on top. Cleveland ended a dreadful season with six straight losses. Both Bailey Zappe and Dorian Thompson-Robinson took snaps at quarterback in the finale. Neither could move the ball much.

Reynolds worked off the dribble from the left side to the right, ducked inside and hit a one-hander off the glass for the go-ahead basket with 12.8 seconds remaining. A 3-pointer from Max Jones gave the Wildcats a 62-56 lead near the 3-minute mark of the second half but the Wildcats did not score again. A tip-in by Vasean Allette and a 3 from Brendan Wenzel made it 62-61 with 1:17 left. After Kansas State missed a one-and-one opportunity with 24 seconds left, Reynolds put the Horned Frogs ahead and K-State's Dug McDaniel was unable to finish a contested layup before time ran out during the battle for the rebound.

Brown, the Bengals' leading rusher, did not practice all week after he got hurt during an overtime victory over Denver. Brown, who has rushed for a team-high 990 yards and scored 11 combined touchdowns, had been listed as questionable on the final injury report. The 8-8 Bengals, winners of four straight, need a victory over the Steelers and losses on Sunday by Miami and Denver to clinch a playoff spot.

Dan Skillings Jr. scored 18 points and had two steals. The Bearcats were down 19 points with just over 17 minutes remaining. They tied it at 64 with 58 seconds left on Skillings' layup. That was as close as they'd get to a comeback win.

The Chiefs tried to move up the flight as the weather bared down on them. But the plane they were expected to use was delayed in arriving, so the team had to stick with its mid-afternoon departure. Just before it took off, airport officials announced that all flight operations were suspended due to "rapid ice accumulation." A break between the line of ice and the arrival of snow provided enough time to de-ice the plane, clear the runway and get the Chiefs off the ground.

Georgia says football coach Kirby Smart's father died early Saturday of complications from hip surgery after falling in New Orleans ahead of the Sugar Bowl. Sonny Smart fell while walking on New Year's Eve and fractured his hip. He was hospitalized and had hip surgery at Ochsner Medical Center, where he died surrounded by his family. A longtime high school football coach in Alabama and Georgia, Sonny Smart coached Kirby when he was in high school. He became a regular at his son's games when Kirby became head coach at his alma mater in 2016.

Luke Littler has set his sights on becoming the most successful darts player ever after becoming the sport's youngest world champion at age 17. Littler beat three-time champion Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the world championship final on Friday and says he is targeting darts great Phil Taylor's record haul of 16 world titles. Taylor is the only player to have won the world championship more than five times, yet Littler believes he could set a new record. Asked what he could achieve, Littler said: "Add on to it. Get maybe a few more. If I want the 16, then I am sure I could possibly achieve it.

The Spanish league and federation have again denied Barcelona's request to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor for the rest of the season. The players were registered only through the end of 2024 and Barcelona failed to meet the league's financial fair-play rules by the end-of-year deadline. The league and the federation say in a joint statement on Saturday that even though Barcelona eventually was able to meet the salary-cap rules, the players can't be registered again after having already been dropped because of the missed deadline.

The German's first task was watching Tottenham play Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday and he'll probably be pleased with what he saw. Two players likely to be in Tuchel's first squad got on the scoresheet inside the first six minutes: Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke in the fourth minute and Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon shortly after. Tuchel's contract officially started on Wednesday.
