SYRACUSE — Jason Larsen bought his 2009 Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna Super-Glide just this past December, but his passion for Harleys has been with him for many years.

Larsen's uncle was someone that was rarely seen driving anything but a bike and was also one of the main influences in Larsen's life. As soon as Larsen was old enough, he bought his first motorcycle while he was still in high school and his enthusiasm would only grow through the years to come.

Larsen's first Harley was one of the more commonly seen Sportsters, but like many enthusiasts, he wanted something bigger and better to replace it.

“I have always loved motorcycles and I knew I had to have a Harley,” Larsen said. “And I knew it had to be a Dyna.”

At the end of 2016, Larsen found the opportunity he had been waiting for. He bought what some Harley owners’ would call the most versatile bike the company ever produced: a 2009 FXD Dyna Super-Glide.

The owner of the bike had bought it brand new from the Salt Lake City Harley-Davidson dealer in 2009 and had bought a matching Dyna for his wife as well. The Dyna only had 3,400 miles and was in pristine factory condition, which is exactly what Larsen was looking to start with.

It took almost no time at all for modifications of the bike to begin. First with some powder-coating and 9-inch Forbidden motorcycle risers and Pro-Taper bars with custom shims to make it stand out from other Dynas, along with a set of black and machined mag wheels to match the black powder-coat that all but engulfed the bike.

Next up was a T-Sport fairing from OKC Customs and a Thunder Header and Screaming Eagle 204 set of cams to give the engine an extra bit of horsepower. A TTS tuner and drag specialties 13.5-inch shocks help manage the power and control the ride of the bike.

A few other mods to finished the look with everything from integrated signal and brake lights to a custom-made crash bar brought the bike together into what it is today.

The biggest feat of it all is that all of the modifications were done between January and February, so Larsen wouldn’t miss out on a single day of riding. And with plenty more riding days left in the year, you can be sure to see him riding around on his personalized Dyna.
