THE SCHOOL LIBRARY — Some people create amazingly accurate shot-for-shot reenactments.

You will not see one of those people in this article. Instead, you will meet a man who does the worst reenactment from a movie, which somehow makes it the best.

In this video, you’ll see a side-by-side comparison of a very loose interpretation of the dance scene from John Hughes’ iconic '80s movie, “The Breakfast Club.” It’s a scene that you will recognize even if you’ve never seen the movie because it has seeped its way into our collective pop culture lexicon.

YouTube user motleycruisecontrol poorly, yet perfectly, represents all five characters played originally by Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall, and Judd Nelson.

Careless costuming is the basis of the video styling, including bad wigs, backward sweaters, and off kilter color schemes. You may wish to scoff when the video starts, but you’ll quickly see it as charming if not downright hilarious.

Keep watching, and soon you’ll be drawn in by the lackluster dance moves that aren’t timed well, and are far from precise.

It’s a mess — a beautiful, wonderful mess that gets better and better as the video progresses. Indeed, the production value is so low and careless that a rogue, wide-eyed child makes it into the final cut.

Is this video dumb? Yes. Yet the entertainment value is far greater than the production value suggests.
