KEARNS — Police say a driver and her passenger are lucky to be alive after a serious car accident in Kearns.
Unified police say the woman swerved into oncoming traffic at about 5700 South and 5600 West late Tuesday night. Her Corolla smashed head-on into an SUV, causing it to roll. A tire flew off, and the Corolla spun and hit another car. A fourth car hit the tire.
The incident shut part of 5600 West for a while.
The two people in the Corolla and the driver of the SUV were all taken to Intermountain Medical Center. No word on their condition this morning. Everyone else was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Investigator still don't know what caused the wreck.
