NOT IDAHO — It's been 16 years since Napoleon Dynamite danced his way into our hearts. Jude Gagner has been alive for only nine years.
But Jude's talent show performance of Napoleon's iconic dance is going viral this week, and the video is both incredibly adorable and majorly nostalgia-inducing.
Jude's mother Katie told Popsugar that Jude learned the dance watching YouTube videos and surprised his parents by asking to sign up for the school talent show.
While young Jude requires a little encouragement, as his mother can be heard exhorting him to keep going midway through the video, the young man is obviously not lacking for confidence. Much like Napoleon himself.
And that costume — well done, sir! From the hair to the sweatpants, Jude absolutely nails the "Napoleon Dynamite" aesthetic. It's heartwarming to see this offbeat film classic finding fans in the next generation.
Sure, 16 years ago, this dance, film and even T-shirt were absolutely done to death. But maybe it's time to be reminded about — or in Jude's case, introduced to — the spunky underdog Napoleon and his crazy crew of Preston pals.
