DRAPER — One of the biggest shows in action sports kicks off a European tour in Russia soon. Nitro Circus started in Draper, Utah, and features a group of local athletes.
"Nitro Circus started in a little shack over there, and it's grown in 10 years to become a worldwide brand and a tour. I feel very fortunate and feel really grateful for it," said Gregg Godfrey, creator of Nitro Circus.
Circus performers showed off a few tricks Monday. The group includes several siblings and cousins who were raised in Utah and is headlined by freestyle motocross rider Travis Pastrana.
The young athletes said the family ties make doing their job so much fun.
"Just being with each other around the world is going to be the most awesome experience anyone could ask for," said Ethen Godfrey Roberts.
Nitro Circus is coming to Utah on Jan. 17 for the first time. KSL's Shara Park spent an afternoon with the Godfrey family and got the full story behind the tour - it's roots in Utah - and the wild boys who make it a worldwide success. Look for her exclusive report next week on KSL.
