SCARY BEAR TOWN — We have a problem in our society and that problem is our love affair with bears.
We think they're cute. We make stuffed versions of these powerful beasts that we give to our children for comfort, and we hang posters of them on our walls. Well, maybe you do. I don't know what kind of art you have in your home.
But now, we've taken it a step further. Now we are giving them jobs.
The Bear and Wolf Discovery Center in Montana uses huge grizzly bears to product test coolers and containers to see if they're bear-proof. This video shows off how this is done and even shows some of these grizzlies hard at work. If the bears can't break open the cooler or trash can, then it gets the grizzly seal of approval. If they do break into it, they get a tasty treat and the company that built the product gets to go back to the drawing board.
Monday's Have You Seen This?
These 600-pound bears have been habituated to human food and can no longer live in the wild. So for their safety and the safety of other humans, the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center has brought them in and given them a home and a job to earn their keep.
I'm all for not letting these bears die, showing we as humans can be pretty decent, but do we have to give them jobs to start earning money to fund the bearpocalypse?
Check out the video and go check if your trashcan is grizzly proof.
