LOGAN — Schools in the Cache County School District and Logan City School District are closed Friday due to extreme weather conditions.
School officials said it was -24 degrees in Logan and too cold to keep buses running.
The Logan City School District posted on social media, "Due to extreme cold, the district is cancelling school today. Do not go to bus stops or schools. Temp is -24 and is a danger even with limited exposure."

In southern Utah, Hurricane schools will start two hours late Friday morning due to snow.
The district also says it understands the rights of parents to make decisions that are best for their children. Students who are kept home will not be penalized for their absence.
Power outage
More than 2,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers in Hooper and West Haven were initially without power Friday morning. That number was down to 300 by 7:30 a.m.
Those affected live in Zip codes 84315 and 84401.
An equipment problem caused the outage, according to Rocky Mountain Power. There was no time estimate of when all power would be restored.
