WEST JORDAN — A 36-year-old woman was recovering Thursday after she was reportedly found unconscious in a snowbank and presumed dead by a passer-by.
Now, West Jordan police want to talk to the man who said he found the woman and took her to the hospital so they can piece together exactly what happened and where the woman was found. As of Thursday afternoon, investigators still didn't know.
About 10:30 a.m., a man who was doing contract work told hospital employees he found a woman passed out in a snowbank near a Maverik store, said West Jordan Police Lt. Rich Bell.
"He believes she's dead. He scoops her up and puts her in his vehicle and takes her to Jordan Valley Hospital where they are able to revive her," Bell said.
She doesn't remember anything prior to waking up at the hospital.

While doctors were attending to her, the man who dropped the woman off at the hospital left, police said, before hospital staff could get his contact information.
Medical staff determined the woman suffered a drug overdose, said detective Craig Carroll. When the woman regained consciousness, she told investigators she didn't remember much about what had happened to her.
"She doesn't remember anything prior to waking up at the hospital. Prior to that, she was somewhere at a party at a residence in Hunter somewhere out in West Valley (the day before)," Carroll said.
Police did not know what kind of drug the woman overdosed on or if she took it voluntarily. They also didn't know if the man who took her to the hospital had anything to do with her condition or if he was just being a good Samaritan.
Bell said there are two Maveriks in West Jordan and detectives were checking each one in an attempt to retrace the woman's steps. Another question for detectives is whether the case could be connected to another recent incident of a woman who passed out following a party in South Salt Lake.
In a somewhat similar case earlier this month, a 19-year-old woman was at a party on Jan. 2, but one of the last memories she has of the night was drinking a glass of water. The woman woke up at 1 a.m. lying near a large tree near a church at 1585 W. 2640 South.
Security video from a Maverik gas station at 3260 S. West Temple showed a man removing the teen's limp body from her vehicle and putting it into his maroon Ford Expedition with chrome wheels and chrome body trim.
It was still unknown Thursday if the glass of water had anything to do with the girl blacking out or what may have been in it, according to South Salt Lake police.
The man who dropped off the woman at the hospital on Thursday was driving a late 90s or early 2000s black F-150 pickup truck with an extended cab.
Asked whether the two cases are related, Carroll said police "don't have enough information to tie it to that at all."
