THE SWEET SIDE OF BASKETBALL — COVID-19 has taken a toll on the sports world in 2020, and my guess is there are a lot of college football fans still wallowing in self despair after announcements that some conferences are "postponing" their seasons.

The NBA finally got started again, but it looks much different than usual. Fans can't see games live and the season has been truncated. But it's not just the fans feeling the change, the players are as well.

All games are being played in Florida, which means players are away from their families as they finish the season. While the players are undoubtedly used to being away from family when they go on the road, this is different; there are no home games and you don't get that rest with your loved ones on breaks and home stretches. There is no doubt these players and coaches are missing their families.

The Phoenix Suns organization recognized this and decided to give their players an extra special surprise.

During the starting lineup announcements, the Suns players were surprised when it wasn't the man with the epic voice over the PA systems announcing their names, but rather much more familiar voices. The voices of their families.

Each starting Suns player was introduced by a family member or multiple family members as they looked on with tears in their eyes and smiles on their faces. You can see how happy the players and coach are to see a familiar face saying their name. It is sweet when you put it into context and even LeBron James, the king himself, loved the tribute as he called it out on Twitter and stated how much he misses his family.

Thanks for entertaining us, NBA players, and thanks to their families for giving them up for a while.
