SALT LAKE CITY — Those stopping by Walmart to pick up a gallon of milk might be in for something more — maybe even love at first sight.
A recent study by Pyschology Today took an in-depth look at where the most missed connections posts on Craigslist occur in each of the 50 states.
America's favorite superstore is also a romantic hotspot. On top of filling a shopping cart with every household item, from groceries to lawn mowers to a new set of tires, Walmart shoppers seem to be adding romance to their shopping lists as well. More than a dozen states cited Walmart as the place where the most people felt a connection with someone else, but weren't able to exchange contact information.
Considering two thirds of Americans shop at Walmart every month, the superstore didn't seem too surprised at the findings in a statement they released to Fox Carolina.

"We are flattered to be the place where people's daily routine of picking up milk and detergent has the potential to intersect with something more magical: romance," it stated. "Perhaps the saying should go, 'Love comes when you least expect it - or when you go to Walmart.'"
In Utah, the most cited place for missed connections was college campuses, while other states cited places like gyms, public transportation and even parking lots. A handful of states cited supermarkets. For Nevada it was casinos and in New York it was subways. In Hawaii, the most missed connections occurred at the beach.
The study also breaks down missed connections by age groups: 20-somethings had the most missed connections at ice cream shops, for those in their 30s it was bars and for those in their 40s it was strip clubs or adult bookstores.
