SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Nearly $10 million will go toward construction of 124 units in a new affordable housing complex.

The Private Activity Bond Board authorized $9.8 million in tax exempt bonds for the Providence Place Apartments project a few blocks east of downtown.

The director of Salt Lake City's Division of Housing and Community Development says the apartments will provide an affordable place to live for people who get jobs created by the downtown redevelopment.

Plans for the apartment complex include a club house, library and computer room.
