SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Students who come to Utah to go to college could soon be paying less.
All nine Utah colleges and universities plan to allow students who live in the state only one year to qualify for resident tuition. The wait had been up to three years.
The Utah Board of Regents has approved a policy to implement a new state law that eases the in-state tuition guidelines.
The earliest that students could qualify under the new rules is next July.
Out-of-state tuition can cost three times as much as in-state.
