SANDY, Utah (AP) - Sandy police investigators think "horseplay" led to a traffic accident that killed a Jordan High School student Tuesday.
Police spokesman Troy Arnold told The Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/AzwNYz ) that it appears the driver was "just out messing around" and "having a good time" with friends.
Brandon Evans of Draper was killed in the accident, and a 17-year-old passenger remains in serious condition in a hospital. Two other passengers have been released from the hospital.
A witness told police that he saw Evans' car stopped at a stoplight. After the light turned green, the witness saw the car swerve back and forth before rolling and crashing into a light pole.
Arnold says there was no indication that Evans was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.
