LOGAN — Logan police and county deputies are searching for a potentially armed man who is wanted in a domestic violence investigation.
Police responded to a Logan residence at about 7 a.m. Monday on report of a domestic dispute. Benigno Queredo-Centreros, 41, was identified as the suspect and said to have fled the scene before police arrived.
Later in the morning, Cache County deputies and a Utah Highway Patrol trooper spotted the suspect speeding near 4200 West. The man's vehicle was then found abandoned in a field.
"A deputy and trooper witnessed the suspect stand up in the field, appearing to be armed with a long rifle. It has since been confirmed that a 20-gauge shotgun is missing from his residence, and he is believed to be armed with this weapon," Cache County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "Despite an extensive search of the area, the suspect was not located. He was last seen not wearing a shirt."
His last known address was 443 N. 630 West in Logan, police said. A Utah Highway Patrol helicopter, drones and an armored vehicle have been deployed in the search.
Queredo-Centreros is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a distinct mohawk hairstyle and mustache, police said.
Police encourage anyone who may see him to call Cache County Dispatch at (435) 753-7555. Because he is considered armed and had allegedly made threats to others, police said members of the public should not approach him if spotted.
