SALT LAKE CITY -- A gas leak has shut down part of Redwood Road and forced the evacuation of the Kid Care Company day care.
It happened near 475 South and Redwood Road at 11:20 a.m. Friday.
A tree removal company was taking out a tree when it hit a gas line underneath.

Scott Freitag of the Salt Lake City Fire Department said, "The ground had been marked, and there's some flags there. So we're not sure if they mismarked it or if he was digging where he should have been."
No injuries have been reported.
The children at the Kid Care Company have been evacuated as a precaution. They were moved to the Edison Elementary School at 466 Cheyenne Street.
Nancy Sefakiss' 2-year-old son, Luke, was among those who got a special ride. "They have the cribs and they loaded the kids up and wheeled them down the street," she said.
The biggest issue stemmed from shutting down Redwood Road between 400 and 500 South for several hours to make the repairs. It caused quite a traffic backup in the area.
By 1:30 p.m., everything was back to normal and the children were returned to the day care.
