(KSL News) -- A petition drive will begin tomorrow morning in Heber City. Members of "Keep Heber Valley First" want to prevent Wal-Mart from building a store there.
Fifteen hundred signatures are needed to get the issue on a ballot, and then citizens can vote on the issue. They are organizing because the city council changed the square footage cap for commercial buildings, which now allows big-box retailers.
Family-owned businesses also worry large retailers may put them out of business and change the atmosphere of the small town.
The meeting is set for tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Wasatch County Senior Citizen's Center.
