SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah House has passed a resolution questioning the science behind global warming and calling for federal officials to stop policies aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

House Joint Resolution 12 passed 56-17 on Tuesday and now goes to the Senate.

The resolution says the Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to regulate carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act is based on "questionable" science and could hurt the economy.

Ogden Republican Rep. Kerry Gibson introduced the resolution and later agreed to strip language referring to a "climate data conspiracy" and "tricks" used to support global warming data.
