WEST JORDAN -- Two people armed with a machete robbed a fast-food restaurant in West Jordan.
Police say a male and female entered the Wendy's at 8935 S. Redwood Road at 10:08 p.m. Monday. Investigators say the male was armed with a machete and the female carried a screwdriver.

"They took and bound the employees with duct tape, at which time they took money from the registers and some lock boxes that were inside the business," said West Jordan police Sgt. Drew Sanders.
The suspects left in a newer-model, black Jeep Cherokee driven by a third suspect.
A similar robbery occurred Saturday night at a Taco Time at 9000 South and 2700. Because of the similar circumstances and weapons, police believe the two are related.
