News Specialist Stacey Butler reportingThe family of Elizabeth Smart says they have new clues in her disappearance. And there is a new reward.
An additional $10,000 is being offered by the Smart family, this time for any information establishing that Richard Ricci was not involved in Elizabeth's kidnapping.
Ed and Lois Smart say they want to put to rest the question of Ricci's possible involvement once and for all. Together with the police the family is looking for another possible suspect -- a homeless roofer named Emmanuel. The Smarts hired him last November after they discovered him panhandling downtown.
He worked only one day for about five hours.
"I talked with him about where he was from, what he was doing. He indicated to me that he was from all over, preaching Born Again Christianity," Smart says.
A police search for the roofer has turned up nothing and now police are asking anyone who has seen Emmanuel to contact them.
Police say the man is not a suspect at this point. They want to question him along with about five other transients who worked on the Smart home.
So far police have questioned and ruled out about 45 contractors the Smarts employed.
