SALT LAKE COUNTY -- A driver is injured and faces a DUI charge following a crash on Bangerter Highway.
Police say a car was traveling south on Bangerter Highway around midnight when it smashed into the median barrier at 7800 South. The impact flipped the car into the northbound lanes and into oncoming traffic.
Lt. Bob Shober, with the West Jordan Police Department, said, "They (other drivers) were paying close enough attention, they weren't impacted by his vehicle."
The car's driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including broken bones and possibly a broken hip.
Police say alcohol was a factor, and the man will face DUI charges.
