(KSL News) -- A man who barricaded himself in his home this afternoon forced the evacuation of several homes in Orem.

The man inside made threats to police that he had explosive devices and weapons inside the home. He told officers he had homemade C-4 explosives.

He has a history of arrests, so police brought in the SWAT team and other emergency departments. A negotiator eventually helped police take the man into custody.

Police found a device in the home, tested it, and determined it was harmless.
