(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Deadly mustard agent escaped a rusting munition at the Deseret Chemical Depot.

A teaspoon of mustard agent spilled today in an underground storage bunker.

Workers in protective suits put it into an air-tight container.

The mustard gas leaked from a howitzer-powered projectile.

Mustard gas is a blister agent that can dissolve tissue on contact.

Army officials say there was no danger to workers or the environment.
