SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- It's Older Driver Safety Awareness Week. And AAA Utah hopes that will prompt seniors and their families to talk about when it's time to give up the car keys.
How long seniors can drive safely is an issue for millions of Americans. AAA says statistics show seniors have high crash death rates. Only teenage drivers have a higher rate.
AAA is offering help for having a conversation with elderly drivers along with access to other resources at it website.
AAA Utah spokeswoman Rolayne Fairclough says the website provides information to help deal with the issues concerning older drivers, safety and the other options for getting places.
