SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The health department in Davis County is hoping to administer 3,000 doses of swine flu vaccine to the general public on Friday.

The department is holding a clinic at the Davis Conference Center from noon to 5 p.m. Spokesman Bob Ballew says about 1,000 tickets for doses have already been handed out. The department was giving out the other 2,000 tickets late Thursday and early Friday.

The department has opened its clinics to the general public.

In Provo, the Utah County Health Department is taking appointments for an H1N1 vaccination clinic on Saturday.

Doses will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis for those who are pregnant, living with young children or working in health care. Also eligible are people between the ages of 6 months and 24 years and those older than 25 with chronic medical conditions.
