The 4th quarter begins with a Timpview punt. It wasn't a good one and Mountain Crest takes over at their own 41 after a 19 yard punt. It was the first of the game for the T-birds. Remember, Timpview led 31-20 last year when Alex Kuresa led a furious combeback that fell short by two points.

The Mustangs decide to go for it on 4th down and Kuresa works his magic once again. Rolling left to avoid the sack he threads the needle to Tyler Weese for the touchdown. Mustangs have plenty of time to rally.

Alex Kuresa has his team in scoring position once again making tough throw after tough throw. It's 2nd and goal for the Mustangs at the 3 yard line.

Timpview forces another turnover. This time it was deep in Mustangs territory. Mustang receiver Troy Pickett caught a pass but was stripped and the T-birds took over on the 14. The defense kept them out of the end zone and Timpview settled for a field goal. Can Mountain Crest rally like they did last year?

8:13 Third Quarter
Timpview 28, Mountain Crest 14

Timpview takes advantage of the Mustang fumble with a 38 yard touchdown run by Trevor Brown. It's the third touchdown run of the game for Brown. That fumble was potentially a 14 point turnaround. Mountain Crest was driving for the tying score before the fumble. Now they face a 14 point deficit with 20 minutes left in this game.

What an incredible first half. Timpview had 329 yards of total offense in the half and they did that in just 7:24 seconds of possession. alex Kuresa is so talented. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 174 yard s and two touchdowns against one of the best defenses in the state. The Mustangs will receive the kickoff and we are ready for an exciting finish.

Timpview 21, Mountain Crest 14

Timpview quarterback Trevor Brown thought he had his 4th touchdown of the game with 26 seconds left in the half but a holding call brings it back. Instead the half ends on an interception. This was a big penalty because instead of being down 28-14 at halftime, the Mustangs are only down 7 and they get the ball to start the second half with a chance to tie the game. Could be big.

Timpview 21, Mountain Crest 7

On 3rd and 20 Kuresa works his magic again connecting with his top target Tyler Weese for a 43 yard gain. There is some debate on whether or not Weese got his foot inbounds but it doesn't matter. It counts.

11:27 Second Quarter
Timpview 21, Mountain Crest 7

A holding penalty in the red zone wasn't enough to kill Timpview's drive. Trevor Brown carries the ball down to the one yard line and on the next play takes it in for a score on the quarterback dive. The T-birds look unstoppable right now offensively.

12:00 Second Quarter
Timpview 14, Mountain Crest 7

Timpview is in Mountain Crest territory thanks to an incredible grab by Zach VanLeeuwen. He somehow went up high to grab the catch and then barely got his foot inbounds along the sideline. What an incredible quarter of high school football. This game may trump last year's semifinal between these two teams.

7:09 First Quarter
Timpview 14, Mountain Crest 7

Kuresa was sacked and fumbled on his own 8 yard line but the Mustangs were able to recover. That hasn't kept the Mustangs from driving into Timpview territory. The drive finally stalled at the Timpview 44 yard line. The Mustangs punt and the T-birds start their drive at their own 7 yard line. So far, field position is irrelevant in this game. This is fun to watch.

Timpview 14, Mountain Crest 7

This game is already crazy. Timpview responds with a 2 play 80 yard drive in :20 seconds to take a 14-7 lead. Mountain Crest didn't score with 3 plays in :31 seconds but their opening drive was just as impressive. Alex Kuresa drove the Mustangs up the field setting up one of the best highlights of the year. Kuresa somehow avoided the rush and launched a pass threw a Timpview defender and into the arms of Joseph Carley who made an incredible effort to catch the ball and then run in for a 25 yard touchdown. Kuresa kept the play alive thanks to a massive block by one of his lineman while taking a massive hit himself after he got the ball away. Let the track meet begin.

Timpview 7, Mountain Crest 0

The first offensive play was a big one and may be a sign of things to come. Bryson Mackenzie broke free and took off down the sideline for a 55 yard run. Then 2 plays later Trevor Brown broke several tackles and found his way into the end zone from 11 yards out. Timpview completes a 3 play 74 yard drive in :31 seconds to take an early lead. Wow.

12:00 First Quarter
Mountain Crest 0, Timpview 0

We've been waiting for this all season. #1 Mountain Crest vs. #2 Timpview. These two teams meet for the 3rd straight year in the semifinals. Last years game was a classic as Alex Kuresa almost led the Mustangs to a shocking upset over the T-birds. This looks to be one heck of a game and we are ready for kickoff. Timpview will receive.
